Three races over three consecutive days. Do you have what it takes? For the first time, a trio of races aptly named Run Saipan Trinity ‘23 are set for Saturday, Jan. 14, Sunday, Jan. 15, and Monday, Jan. 16.

The Saturday race time starts at 6am; the Sunday race is in the afternoon at 4pm; and to close it off, the Monday race, which falls on a holiday—Martin Luther King Jr. Day—is at 6am.

Run Saipan is calling out daring runners to take on the whole three days of races which will span the lengths of scenic routes on Saipan, with the first race called the Marpi 10K on Jan. 14; next is the Mt. Tapochao 5K Race on Jan. 15; then the Oleai Beach 5K on Jan. 16.

Runners can choose not to run on all race days and will receive an event medal for each race joined and an event T-shirt. However, a big commemoration medal will be given to those who complete all three races.

Run Saipan president Edward Dela Cruz said that this three-day run event is the brainchild of Dr. Ron Snyder.

“Dr. Ron wanted to do a three-day race like they do in Europe and this was how it was created. We decided to do it on a three-day weekend. Every race on our calendar has an intention. This race is intended for runners crazy enough to put their body through its paces with a three-day back-to-back races. We didn’t design it to be beginner-friendly. We wanted a race for people that want to test their limits. If you think you’re tough then prove it by completing all three races.”

The race that inspired Snyder is called the Isle of Man Easter Festival of Running in the British Isles, which is from April 7 to 9. It is now in its 59th edition.

Bib pickup for the Trinity race is from Jan. 9 to Jan. 13 at Saipan International School from 9am to 2pm or at Cafe Mango Six on Jan. 13 from 6pm to 8pm.

Race price is $30 and the refund policy is 50% until late registration. No refunds will be given during the late registration period.

Next up on a full year’s calendar of races on Feb. 18 is the 3rd Annual Marianas Ekiden which is a 21-kilometer relay from Micro Beach in Garapan to just before Pacific Islands Club Saipan in San Antonio and back.
