Salvation Army temporarily suspends meal distributions

Until further notice, the CNMI Salvation Army will be suspending its meal distribution service and returning to bulk food distributions (small bags of canned foods, etc.)

In a Facebook post on its page yesterday, the CNMI Salvation Army said it will continue to provide food assistance to the families most in need. “We will be contacting those who message us to register with the date/time and location of distribution. Please be patient, as we have a list of many families registered and it will take some time to move through them all,” the post stated.

The Salvation Army emphasized that this assistance is only for those who do not receive food stamps.

If you would like to register:

1. Send the CNMI Salvation Army a message on Facebook with your real name (which may be different from your Facebook name).

2. Tell us whether or not you or your family receive food stamps.

3. Provide your telephone number.

4. Tell us the number of people in your family (who are living with you).

“Please do not come unless we have contacted and scheduled you. This is very important! Please park and walk up. Please maintain proper distancing. Please check this page regularly for updates,” the Facebook post stated.

In particular, the CNMI Salvation Army urged readers not to comment on any of its distribution-related posts on Facebook page asking to be registered as doing so exposes their personal information to the public. “We will delete them and will not contact you.”
