Scheduled water service interruptions
There will be a scheduled water service interruption on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, from 8am to 5pm, in the following areas: San Vicente, Papago (along Isa Drive), Laolao, Tuturam, Dandan Homestead, Naftan and Obyan areas.
The purpose of the water service interruption is to allow GPPC, Inc., the Commonwealth Utilities Corp.’s contractor, to install the pressure sustaining valve assembly and to connect the transmission pipe from the Papago Tank to the San Vicente Water Tank, which is near completion. Water service to the affected areas is anticipated to resume at 5pm; however, it may take additional time for water to reach the Standford and higher elevated areas in San Vicente.
The San Vicente Water Tank Replacement Project is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and is nearly completed. The newly constructed pre-stressed concrete tank will be commissioned after disinfection is completed and passes bacteriological testing, appropriate chlorine residual and all other required testing procedures. Once completed, this tank will provide a more resilient system and reliable water services to the areas it will serve.
