Search team recovers raft but not missing Japanese sisters

Search and rescue team recovered yesterday the inflatable raft that was believed used by the two Japanese sisters, but the victims could still not be located.

Police said the U.S. Coast Guard spotted the raft about 25 nautical miles north of Banzai Cliff at 8:33am. At 10:21am, the Department of Public Safety’s Fire boat recovered the raft that was found deflated.

Police identified the missing sisters as Natsuki Yamada, 33 and Chinatsu Yamada, 26.
