SelectCare offers 2nd option to fed employees, annuitants
HAGATNA, Guam—The U.S. Office of Personnel Management, which approves health plans and administers benefits for federal employees and annuitants, has approved Calvo’s SelectCare to offer a second option to employees and annuitants in Guam and the CNMI. In addition to the High Option offered in the past two years, a new Standard Option will be offered by Calvo’s SelectCare for the 2015 calendar year.
“We are very excited to offer a second option to the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) program [in] Guam and the CNMI, and enhance the benefits and services that are provided to the employees and annuitants. During the past couple of years, we introduced new benefits and services to the federal employees and annuitants and this second option will only serve to augment the options available to them,” said Frank Campillo, Health Plan Administrator.
The Calvo’s SelectCare Health Plans are underwritten by Tokio Marine Pacific Insurance Limited, a Guam domestic insurer, and administered by Calvo’s Insurance Underwriters. TMPI is the only health insurer on Guam that is rated A+ by AM Best, and Calvo’s Insurance just celebrated 75 years of doing business in Guam and Micronesia.
This will be the third year that Calvo’s SelectCare is approved to offer health insurance benefits to the FEHB program in Guam and the CNMI, and the first time to offer two options to this group.
Frank Campillo added: “In addition to the wellness initiatives introduced in the prior year, SelectCare is adding a new wellness reward program available on both options that will be offered in 2015. We look forward to providing additional information on the options available to the FEHB members this year and further expand on our benefits and services during the upcoming open enrollment season.”
FEHB members are able to choose from either of the two options during the open enrollment season that starts on Nov. 10.
Calvo’s SelectCare provides health insurance benefits to the Government of Guam, commercial groups on Guam, the CNMI, and Palau, and the FEHB program. (PR)
