Bennet Seman clinched the CNMI Women’s Golf Association September monthly tournament held last Sept. 12 at the Coral Ocean Point Golf Resort.

Seman started at the back nine shooting a 50 and ended up with a 54 at the front for a gross score of 104.

She, however, has a United States Golfers Association handicap of 25 that gave her a 79 net for 15 points and a one-shot win over veteran golfer Noriko Togawa.

CWGA awards points to each golfer with the member who earned the most number of points also winning after their yearend tournament.

Masayo Miyamoto could have forced a tiebreak with Seman with rounds of 46 and 43 for an 89 gross and with a 10 handicap also came up with 79. She, however, did not to qualify after failing to submit her required scorecard for handicap calculation purposes.

Togawa came in second following a 42-42 round for an 84 and her 4 USGA handicap gave her an 80 net score and 14 points.

Matilde Hocog fired a 49 and 51 for a 100 gross and 81 net. The 19-handicapper also collected 13 points.

The trio of Sherlyn Jones, Dolores Yamagishi, and Seon Hee Kim were two shots back with identical 83s and 12, 11, and 10 points each.

Jones tallied a 93 (45-48) and had a 10 handicap, while Yamagishi finished with a 97 (50-47) and a handicap of 14. Kim had a 105 (55-50) and a 22 handicap.

Lorraine Babauta and Kimiko Abe ended up tied with 86s for 9 and 8 points apiece.

Babauta (46-48) ended up with a 94 and with an 8 handicap gave her that 86 net, while Abe (47-49) scored a 96 gross (10 handicap, 86).

Terry Guerrero (53-46, 99, 12 handicap) and Anne Gillespie (61-65, 126, 31 handicap) completed the list of participants with an 87 and 95, respectively. Guerrero earned 7 points while Gillespie had 6.
