The Department of Lands and Natural Resources’ Division of Fish and Wildlife has noted an increase in sightings of jellyfish within the Saipan lagoon.

This prompted the division to issue a warning yesterday, informing the public, beach goers, swimmers, divers and fishermen of the increased number of jellyfish sightings.

“The public is advised to take precautionary measures when entering the water where jellyfish are present. Jellyfish sting can be dangerous and cause serious symptoms including nausea, vomiting, and respiratory distress,” the division said.
