State honors for Mayor Flores today

Gov. Eloy S. Inos has ordered the rendering of state honors for the funeral of the late mayor of Saipan, Donald Glenn P. Flores, today.

Because Flores was serving his term of office at the time of his death, he will be honored by the government and people of the Commonwealth through the draping of the CNMI flag by the Department of Public Safety funeral detail. After the Mass of Christian Burial and before his interment at his final resting place, Inos will present the CNMI flag to Flores’ widow, Cecilia Flores. And in a final tribute, DPS officers will render a 17-gun salute and the playing of the Taps.

Since Flores’ passing, Inos had ordered the U.S. and CNMI flags to fly at half staff. (Office of the Governor)
