Tinian DPS sets sobriety checkpoints

The Tinian Department of Public Safety would like to inform the general public that the Traffic Section will be conducting DUI/sobriety checkpoints on the dates and time listed below:

-Wednesday, May 13, 2015, 11am to 12:15pm, eastbound lane by baseball field.

-Friday, May 15, 2015, 11am to 12:15pm, southbound lane Broadway by Natibu Park.

-Monday, May 22, 2015, 11am to 12:15pm, eastbound lane by baseball field; 4pm to 5:15pm, southbound lane by Youth Center

-Friday, May 25, 2015, 11am to 12:15pm, eastbound lane by baseball field; 4pm to 5:15pm, southbound lane by Youth Center

Each checkpoint will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes). Checkpoints are subject to be terminated if it begins to rain. This activity is part of the Department of Public Safety’s effort to ensure that all safety belts and car seat restraints are worn at all times. In addition, traffic officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions and laser (speed detection) enforcement.
