Tisdale appointed to US Air Force Academy

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo announced that Tomoya Tisdale has been appointed to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Tomoya was nominated by Congresswoman Bordallo, and competed with nominees nationwide for admission into the Air Force Academy. He is the son of Wayne Tisdale and Yoshimi Nakazato from Piti. Tomoya will graduate from Guam High School this June.

Tomoya is an active member of the Guam High School NJROTC program where he serves as the Commanding Officer. He is also the president of the Guam Honor Band and is a member of the Guam Territorial Band. Additionally, Tomoya is a member of the U.S. Sea Cadet Corps and Side Kicks Soccer Club.

“I am proud of Tomoya and congratulate him on his appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy,” said Bordallo. “Tomoya has displayed academic excellence and a commitment to service and leadership throughout his high school career. His NJROTC experience has helped prepare him for the Academy and demonstrates his eagerness to serve our country. I look forward to Tomoya’s success at the Air Force Academy and in his career as an Air Force officer.”
