Twin wins for Tinsel Toes

Tinsel Toes notched a pair of wins in the co-ed U12 division of Saipan Soccer School’s 2018 Youth Futsal Tournament last week at the TSL Sports Complex.
The first one came at the hands of Kanoa Ali’i last Thursday, 7-6, while the second was against CTSI Petmalu last Sunday, 5-3.
Versus CTSI Petmalu, Sean Gil and Ruben Guerrero teamed up in giving Tinsel Toes its third win in five games. Gil and Guerrero scored two goals apiece with the latter making both in the second half. Markus Toves made the other goal for Tinsel Toes in the first half, which ended with the squad ahead by one, 2-1. CTSI Petmalu’s goals were courtesy of Pia Ngewakl, Carvin Cruzat, and Kristopher Pascual.
Against Kanoa Ali’i, Toves stood out for Tinsel Toes after firing six goals—three apiece in the first and second half. Guerrero added one goal in the first half, allowing Tinsel Toes to cling to a 4-3 halftime edge. Paul Lizama and Han Tae Hyun delivered two goals apiece for Kanoa Ali’i, which got an own goal in the first half to remain in contention. Tyler Omelau was the other player who scored for the losing squad.
Meanwhile, Betde handed Kanoa Ali’i back-to-back losses after registering a 5-2 victory in their game last Sunday.
Kaithlyn Chavez and Julie Capayas posted two goals each for Betde, while Mark Roque contributed one. Omelau was the only Kanoa Ali’i player to hit the board in last weekend’s game.
In other results, Fake Madrid is still unbeaten (5-0-0 win-draw-loss record) following a 7-3 triumph over Betde United in their co-ed U15 division match last Sunday.
Paulyn Joyce and Kaden Church bagged two goals apiece, while Blake Mister, Jon Villagomez, and Katrina Costales had one each for Fake Madrid. Kohtaro Goto made a pair for Betde United, while Jerrick Quimzon chipped in one.
Betde United, before facing Fake Madrid, downed CNMI United, 5-1. Taka Borja led Betde United’s victory after drilling a hat trick, while Ezekiel Canape and Brandon Tenorio scored the two other goals for the winning squad. Merrick Toves posted the lone goal for CNMI United last Thursday.
CNMI United returned to the artificial turf last Sunday and this time won against Marianas United, 11-2. Jhoey Noble and Ian Maniago scored three goals apiece for CNMI United, while Merrick Toves added two, and Floyd Muna, Mariana Castro, and Keisha Deleon Guerrero tallied one each.
