A van slammed into the rear of a pickup truck on Middle Road, while a van slewed off the road and plowed into a tree in Fina Sisu in separate accidents on Saturday and Wednesday.
Both drivers in the Middle Road accident complained of minor pain, while the driver in the Fina Sisu incident was not injured, police said.

Saturday’s Middle Road incident involved a Nissan Quest with license plate ACN-668 and a Nissan pickup truck with license plate ABS-787.

Saipan Tribune learned that the Nissan Quest hit the rear of the Nissan pickup truck as the two vehicles were running south along Middle Road in front of Island Bath and Ceramics at about 3:40pm.

After hitting the pickup, the van continued running until it stopped several meters away near the Quartermaster Road intersection.

The Nissan Quest sustained extensive damage in the front portion, while the pickup had extensive damage in the rear portion.

Wednesday’s crash involved a silver Toyota Sienna van being driven by a woman.

Department of Public Safety police spokesman Travis Hurst said police officers responded to Chalan Antonio Apa Street in Fina Sisu on Wednesday at 9am.

Hurst said the driver, who was not injured, told police that she was traveling north on Chalan Antonio Apa Street when a vehicle suddenly exited from the Finasisu Terraces in front of her.

The van’s driver tried to avoid a collision but failed to properly counter-steer and the van swerved off of the road, hitting a tree. The van had extensive damage.
