UFO donates $500 to Simbang Gabi Group
Making it in time before Christmas started, the United Filipino Organization donated $500 to the Saipan Simbang Gabi Group last Saturday.
The donation took place during UFO’s appreciation night held at the residence of outgoing UFO president Romeo Malasarte in Susupe.
The donation will be used to help rehabilitate a school in the Philippines that was severely damaged by a typhoon. A plaque of appreciation was also awarded to Renato Gaviola at the event.
A UFO supporter, Marilou Malasarte, said, “This donation is very important. A lot of children from the Philippines will be supported by the money being donated today.”
“I think any form of donation given holds every bit of importance. The money will be used for a good cause,” Marilou Malasarte added.
The donation came from various fundraising events held by UFO in 2016.
Simbang Gabi group president Malou Mendoza extended thanks to the organization for their continuing hard work for the Filipino community.
