UOG celebrates Charter Day today
The University of Guam celebrates its 48th Charter Day today, March 8, 2016, at the UOG campus. The Center Courtyard will have live music, food, games and activities for the whole family. The theme this year is “Triton Spirit: One University; Many Voices.”
Opening Ceremonies begin at 9am and activities run throughout the day until 5pm. The public is invited to attend.
Charter Day is the largest public event at the University with nearly 5,000 people visiting the campus throughout the day. This year, Charter Day features a multitude of activities and events including campus tours, presentations from the Marine Lab and WERI, the Annual College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Research Conference, the CHamoru Language Competition at the Calvo Field House, agricultural displays, ROTC tactical demonstrations, Chemistry Titration High School Competition and more.
The final event of the President’s Cup Competition—”Triton Challenge”—will take place at 3pm and will feature a multi-station relay race among teams of students, alumni and UOG employees.
