UPCOMING EVENTS AT JKPL
If you haven’t stopped by the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library recently, we have a lot of fun and exciting events coming up in October! Please see below for details:
Great Stories Club: This is a free book club for teens ages 13-18. We meet twice a month, and each month we discuss a different book. At the end of the club, participants will be able to keep the book! Sign up online (https://goo.gl/forms/P4jmBQbWCQpc4EBJ3) and join us for a time of food, fun, and books! The next book club will meet in December.
Motheread/Fatheread 20th Anniversary breakout sessions: Join us on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9am to 12pm at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library as we celebrate 20 years of increasing literacy in the CNMI. We will have breakout sessions that participants can visit as well as information on the Motheread/Fatheread literacy program.
Trunk or Treat: If you have not participated in or visited this event, do so this year for our 7th annual event. It will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 3:30pm to 6:30pm in the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library parking lot. To participate or for more information, visit our website at cnmilib.org or contact Omar Manacop or Rose Ulloa at (670) 235-7329/7323.
Golf Tournament: Enjoy golfing or know anyone who does? Then the 4th Annual Golf Tournament is perfect for you. To participate, buy a ticket at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library. This event takes place on Saturday, Oct. 27. All proceeds benefit the library, its resource and collection development, and library programs. For more information, visit cnmilib.org.
Join teen advisory board
Attention all teens! Do you have ideas for programs and events at the library and want to help implement them? Do you want to influence the Young Adult collection at the library? Do you want to meet new people?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are welcome to join the free Joeten-Kiyu Public Library teen advisory board.
Why join the TAB? Besides making new friends, members will have the opportunity to brainstorm new and interesting programs and events for the library, as well as influence what the library purchases for the teen section! TAB members will meet regularly each month to socialize, brainstorm ideas, and eat snacks! Teens going into grades 7th-12th are invited to submit an application to join the TAB.
For more information or to ask questions, call the library at 235-READ and ask for Emily, or email her at emily.jkpl@gmail.com.
