It’s been a year since the gruesome murder of Joana Katrina Vitug inside a law office in Garapan on the morning of Dec. 19, 2014, in the hands of a former boyfriend.
Last Saturday, the family and loved ones of Vitug marked her first year death anniversary with an 8am Mass at the San Antonio Church and then a visit to her tomb at the Tanapag Cemetery.
There, the family released paper lanterns to honor Vitug’s memory.
Vitug was shot and killed by Police Officer 1 Christopher S. Santos, who then shot himself in the head inside the Mailman and Kara law offices in Garapan where she worked as a paralegal.
Vitug, 30, and Santos, 24, had one child together; Vitug had three other children.
