‘Watershed moment in fight vs climate change’
Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP) issued the following statement regarding the global agreement to fight climate change that was adopted in Paris Saturday:
“Today marks a watershed moment in the fight against climate change—and it’s one we can all be proud of. The success of the Paris Climate Summit is truly a monumental moment in the history of the world.
“For the first time in history, the world has come together to action to prevent the worst impacts of climate change and to affirm that clean energy is the future. Paris sets the solid foundation for more climate progress. And as we move toward more ambitious action in the decade ahead, we must ensure that America and the Northern Mariana Islands are equipped to lead in the clean energy economy. We must continue to work reducing carbon pollution, lower energy bills, and protect the air our children breathe.
