Wind advisory for small craft

Share

Based on information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, a small craft advisory for winds is in effect from 4am Monday to 4am Wednesday on the three islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.

Southwesterly winds of 20 to 25 knots with higher gusts will begin early Monday morning and continue through Tuesday night. These winds are in response to a tropical disturbance over the Northern Marianas.

The public and inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid sailing in these conditions. (EOC)
