Woman pleads guilty to ‘ice’ possession

Xiu Hui Wang, a 37-year-old woman who was one of four Chinese nationals arrested by the CNMI Drug Enforcement Task Force last May for allegedly selling methamphetamine or “ice” on Saipan, has pleaded guilty in Superior Court.

Wang, also known as Sister, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to two counts of illegal possession of controlled substance as part of a plea deal. Two counts of trafficking of a controlled substance were dropped.

Wang will be sentenced on Oct. 28, 2015, at 1:30pm. Associate Judge David A. Wiseman is presiding over the case.

Wang is represented by Chief Public Defender Douglas Hartig.

Police said a cooperating source managed to buy $180 worth of “ice” from Wang at the cooperating source’s residence on Capital Hill last April 15 and $180 worth of “ice” the following day.

CNMI Drug Enforcement Task Force arrested Wang last May 13 along with three other Chinese nationals for allegedly engaging in “ice” trafficking.
