World Youth Day 2011
Eighteen students from Saipan embarked on a spiritual pilgrimage to Madrid, Spain, on Aug. 14, 2011, to join thousands of other pilgrims for this year’s World Youth Day celebration, held from Aug. 16 to 21, 2011.
The Saipan delegation, composed of students with ages ranging from 15 to 18, were accompanied by two priests-Fr. Jim Gould and Fr. Art Stoia-and four adult chaperones. The following are essays written by some of the delegates.
