BREAKING NEWS: GOV. ELOY INOS PASSES AWAY

Gov. Eloy S. Inos has passed away in the U.S. mainland, sources told Saipan Tribune this morning.

Press secretary Ivan Blanco declined to comment when Saipan Tribune asked if the reports were true on Inos’ passing, but then stated that a Cabinet meeting is being set and a press conference is scheduled this afternoon.

Facebook has been inundated with condolences and messages to the Inos family.

Inos’ death comes nearly a year after he was inaugurated for his first term as governor alongside Lt. Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, who has been acting governor in his behalf since Inos has been hospitalized for a heart ailment in Seattle, WA.

Inos took over from former governor Benigno R. Fitial, who resigned his term in February 2013 after being impeached by the House of Representatives on corruption charges.

  1. Article III, section 7 of our CNMI Constitution:
Section 7: Succession to the Governorship and Lieutenant Governorship. In case of the removal, death, or resignation of the governor, the lieutenant governor shall become governor and the president of the senate shall become lieutenant governor.

So we are clear–there is no question, no new election until the next term.

  2. VOTE Heinz Hofschneider!!! Everyone needs to get ready for the special election!!! Time to kick “Solution Driven” leadership out and put “Change” in !!!

    1. Unfortunately we are stuck with the boy wonder, Ralphy boy now and the senate President for the duration.

We will NOW be in bigger sh*t that we have been. And to think that Ralphy boy went to high school in Iowa then to college in Iowa and took up Political Science. then hung out in Iowa with no job for three years before back to his his brothers’ law firm for 4 years before his political career began.
Lets see if there is a god and if he is awake.

      1. We hope that his brothers advise him well to the best interest of the CNMI and its people rather than for self interest. This is your chance Torres brothers to make family and entire CNMI proud! Don’t squander it.
