Chabanne accepted to US Air Force Academy Prep School

HAGÅTÑA, Guam—Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo announced that Mia Emanuella S. Chabanne has been accepted to the United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School prepares qualified young men and women academically, physically and militarily to enter the U.S. Air Force Academy and greatly improves chances for appointment to the Air Force Academy.
Mia is the daughter of Joel and Jean Chabanne of Dededo and will graduate from Harvest Christian Academy in June 2016. Mia was nominated by Congresswoman Bordallo, and competed with nominees nationwide for admission into the Air Force Academy.
Mia has maintained an impressive grade point average of 4.05, is in the top of her class, and a member of the National Honor Society. Mia volunteers with several organizations such as Island Girl Power. She is an active member of several academic and extra-curricular activities including soccer, basketball and cross country.
“I am very proud of Mia and her accomplishments throughout her high school career. Her acceptance to the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School is well deserved, and I am confident that she will represent out island well,” said Congresswoman Bordallo. “Mia has shown great commitment to her academics and the Guam community. I congratulate Mia and her family on this achievement and look forward to her future success in the U.S. Air Force.”
