Tropical Storm Conson intensifying

Drifting westward at 40 miles per hour of maximum sustained winds, Tropical Storm Conson is expected to intensify over the next few days, according to the U.S. National Weather Service yesterday.

As of 7pm yesterday, the center of Tropical Storm Conson was 485 miles north-northwest of Enewatak or about 845 miles east of Saipan or 940 miles east-northeast of Guam.

Earlier yesterday at 1pm, the center of Conson was 455 miles north-northwest of Enewetak or about 890 miles east of Saipan or 980 miles east-northeast of Guam.

NWS said moving west at 8mph, Conson is expected to turn northwest Tuesday night and today, Wednesday, then north on Thursday.

The forecast track takes Conson very near Minami Tori Shima Island Friday night.
