Car hits woman near Eucon
A woman was seriously hurt after a car hit her along Chalan Pale Arnold Road or Middle Road near the Eucon International University in Gualo Rai last Saturday morning.
The victim, a 26-year-old Chinese national, was brought to the Commonwealth Health Center’s emergency room for multiple abrasions and lacerations, with possible fractures on the left arm and hip. She also had injuries in her lower jaw, according to Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesman Derek Gersonde.
Gersonde said DFEMS received a call on Saturday at 8:38am from 911 dispatch about an auto-pedestrian accident on Middle Road.
An ambulance and a rescue vehicle from the Susupe Fire Station responded to the scene, where they found the woman lying on the ground.
Medics used a cervical collar and spine board to prevent any other further injuries to the victim.
Gersonde said the woman was hit by a white car that was heading south.
He said the woman had hit the front bumper and the passenger’s side of the front windshield.
The report did not indicate whether the victim was crossing the road when the sedan struck her. The report also did not mention whether the driver of the car was arrested or not.
In July 2015, two Chinese women were seriously injured when a taxicab mowed them down near Eucon’s gate. The taxicab was reportedly avoiding some pedestrians at the crosswalk.
