Boy, 15, returns home after alert is issued

A 15-year-old boy returned home yesterday morning a few hours after his parents reported him missing and the Department of Public Safety issued an alert.

Acting DPS spokesman Lt. Jason Tarkong said that Lee Ray Fitial went back home in Kagman 2 at 9:38am.

Police responded to Chacha Street in Kagman 2 yesterday at 6:11am and met with Fitial’s parents, who reported that the boy was last seen on Wednesday, Nov. 22, right before lunchtime.

DPS then issued an Amber Alert, a child abduction alert system. The alert was later cancelled when Fitial showed up at home.

Police learned that Fitial spent the last few days at his friends and other family member’s residence.

“The investigation is ongoing,” Tarkong said.

This is the second time that an Amber Alert was issued, only for the missing child to turn up later. In the first instance, Nov. 10, a 15-year-old girl was reported missing by her mother. She was later found walking home. It was learned that she had spent the day at another person’s house.
