FSM college students are invited to apply for $10K sports scholarship

KOLONIA, Pohnpei—The Dr. Eliuel K. Pretrick Memorial Scholarship Committee has announced the deadline of June 1, 2018, for applications for the $10,000 scholarship that is awarded annually to one Federated States of Micronesia citizen who wishes to attend a four-year university to earn a bachelor’s degree in physical education or a sport-related field. 

Named for the former secretary of the FSM Department of Health, Education and Social Affairs and the founding president of the FSM National Olympic Committee, the scholarship is for a third or fourth year student for the school year 2018/2019, and will be awarded on June 15, 2018. 

Applicants must be a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia; have completed an associate’s degree with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale); and be a currently-enrolled college student.

Applicants must also have been accepted for admission as a full-time student into an accredited four-year institution, majoring in physical education or sport administration.
