Jeju Air returns with 168 passengers from Seoul

The CNMI’s top tourist market, South Korea, is back after Jeju Air resumed international flights to Saipan, arriving at the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport Tuesday afternoon with 168 passengers.
Jeju Air came in from Incheon, Seoul, at 3:10pm.
Marianas Visitors Authority staff greeted its passengers at the airport with a welcome banner and presented each one with shell leis.
MVA marketing manager Thomas Kim said the return of visitors from the CNMI’s top market is a huge break.
“Jeju Air is continuing its daily daytime operational flights starting today [Wednesday], so we should see the numbers of visitors under the Korea market grow rapidly,” Kim said.
On Tuesday, Sichuan Airlines also resumed international flights to the CNMI and arrived at the airport carrying 255 passengers from Guangzhou, China.
China Eastern Airlines was set to resume international flights last Wednesday, from Beijing, China.
Beijing Capital Airlines was set to arrive yesterday afternoon from Hangzhou, China.
Hong Kong Airlines will resume flights yesterday midnight, from Hong Kong. Sichuan Airlines was also set to arrive early morning yesterday from Shanghai, China.
Hong Kong Express was the first commercial airline to resume international flights to the CNMI after Super Typhoon Yutu’s destruction on Saipan and Tinian last Oct. 24 and 25. The airline company arrived on Saipan last Friday with full load of 180 passengers.
