No solution in sight yet for many unsolved cases
With the year 2019 nearly ending, many cases that occurred this year remain unsolved so far and the Department of Public Safety has no new updates.
The recent car accident across Puerto Rico Shell that sent one man to the Commonwealth Health Center’s intensive care unit is also still under investigation, according to a press release from DPS last Wednesday.
DPS is investigating whether speed was a factor in the accident but confirms that there was no alcohol involved. The man, who remains unnamed, was reportedly still in critical condition as of 10:21am yesterday.
The double homicide of Li Na Lim and Linhua Cui last Dec. 13 in San Antonio also remains open and is still pending further investigation, DPS has yet to report any new developments on the case.
Lim, the owner of the Rice Cake Best Food Restaurant in San Antonio, and her employee Cui were both found dead inside the establishment and police have yet to report any suspects. They were both shot dead.
Last Nov. 26, Florita Arbas Rivera went missing without a trace. The only remnants of her were her cellphone and keys that were left on her kitchen table in her home, along with a note asking her loved ones to pray for her. Police have no new leads on her whereabouts.
The case of the dead, decomposing body found at the Bird Island beach back in Nov. 25 also still remains a mystery. DPS has yet to release any new updates on the body and whether an autopsy was conducted.
Last Oct. 26, a car was driven off of Banzai Cliff and the driver remains missing. The search for the driver of the vehicle was called off on Oct. 29 and police have yet to release any new updates on the case.
