Browne is new IPI CEO
Imperial Pacific International (CNMI) LLC has appointed Donald Browne, its senior vice president for Security and Surveillance, as the new chief executive officer.
IPI senior vice president of Public Affairs Tao Xing confirmed yesterday with Saipan Tribune that Browne’s appointment took effect last Saturday, July 17.
According to an IPI management’s internal memorandum addressed to its employees last Saturday, Browne is “a well-regarded leader of IPI with decades of gaming experiences (sic).”
In appointing Browne as CEO, IPI said that Browne has proven in his previous role as senior vice president that his experience and drive will take IPI “to the next level of growth and development under a reorganized structure.”
Last June 25, the Commonwealth Casino Commission board unanimously approved an order requiring IPI to appoint a CEO within 15 days. Commission board chair Edward Deleon Guerrero said that the CCC has been asking the IPI board of directors to make the appointment since the departure of Mark Brown.
“We continuously impressed upon them that this is of utmost urgency. That the IPI board of directors appoint one even on an interim basis, even an acting one, so CCC would know who to direct all the questions to,” the chairman said during the June 25 board meeting.
Mark Brown used to be IPI’s CEO who then became an interim chairman in 2018. He resigned last December.
