Unofficial Commonwealth Election Commission tabulation results show that, with Palacios-Apatang’s commanding 1,060 lead and only some absentee votes remaining to be counted on Dec.9, it’s mathematically improbable for the Torres-Sablan tandem to catch up.

Palacios-Apatang got 138 votes from absentee ballots, while Torres-Sablan received 140. Palacios-Apatang got 7,077 total votes, while Torres-Sablan garnered 6,017 votes.
