BREAKING NEWS: Ogumoro gets 1-year prison term

Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman imposed today, Wednesday, a one-year imprisonment sentence on former Department of Public Safety deputy commissioner Ambrosio T. Ogumoro for his conviction on three felonies and six misdemeanors.

Wiseman also ordered the 57-year-old Ogumoro to pay a $3,500 fine, $100 court costs, and restitution to be determined later.
After serving the prison term, the defendant will be placed on probation for three years. He was required to perform 300 hours of community work service.

The judge allowed Ogumoro to start serving the prison term at the Department of Corrections after two weeks.

  1. Still due to his name and connections he has two weeks to “party” before being jailed. Ordinary people do not get that benefit.
AND only one year? What a disgrace? And while in jail he will be treated like a king with so many banned items such as a cell phone. I would bet he will also be able to have a TV and cable into his cell along with his favorite beer.
Good thing this Judge soon gone.

  2. Yeah, not even a slap on the wrist, just a tiny pinch for major, flagrant breaches of the public trust. Three felonies and six misdemeanors. One year. And the same judge sentences a man who interrupted Bible study and broke a window (two misdemeanors) to 6 months in prison. Wow!

  3. Also he will only have to serve a few months. 1/3 of his sentence less additional time for good behavior. UNLESS the parole board denies parole which is highly unlikely.
