361 Guam Community College students graduate on May 17

Guam Community College will graduate 361 students on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 9am at the UOG Calvo Fieldhouse in Mangilao. Graduates include 53 adult high school, 47 apprenticeship, 220 associate of science, 56 associate of arts, and 65 certifications. The total count of graduates walking on Friday, 292. The total number of degrees and certificates conferred are 441.

Most Distinguished & Distinguished graduates

The Most Distinguished and Distinguished awardees for Academic Year 2024 have been selected and will be recognized in Friday’s ceremony. The Top 2 students are Most Distinguished Graduate Ireese Valencia, Associate of Science in Marketing and Distinguished Graduate Joriza Noelle Luzano, Associate of Science in Computer Science.

Valencia graduate Top 20 in 2021 at Okkodo High School and received a Certificate of Mastery for her hard work in GCC’s secondary Marketing program. Her parents are Rodrigo and Amor Valencia of Dededo. She is a devoted marketing student and embodies an unwavering passion for content creation and entrepreneurship. “I thrive on overcoming challenges,” Ms. Valencia said. “I am constantly seeking opportunities to broaden my skill set and explore new horizons. Beyond my academic pursuits, I am driven by a vision to reshape the marketing landscape through captivating storytelling and innovative strategies,” she added.

Luzano is a 2021 graduate from George Washington High School and received a Certificate of Mastery in Nursing while at G.W.H.S. Her parents are Noel Samson and Karen Ann Luzano of Mangilao. Throughout her academic journey, she has honed fundamental skills such as leadership, creativity, perseverance, and adaptability alongside her peers to excel in her studies. “I look forward to continue my education and pursue a Bachelor’s in Computer Science while growing my experience working in the field of technology,” Luzano shared. “I am enthusiastic to make significant contributions to my respected field. I aspire to continue learning, growing, and positively impacting the people and the community,” she said. (PR)
