Two foreign workers were sentenced yesterday to more than three years in jail after pleading guilty plea to dealing on "ice."
Two foreign workers were sentenced yesterday to more than three years in jail after pleading guilty plea to dealing on “ice.”
U.S. District Court Judge Alex Munson sentenced Efren T. Magkalayo to 3 years and 6 months in jail, while Joel R. Del Rosario was meted 3 years and 10 months. Both come from the Philippines.
They will serve their terms in federal prison.
Del Rosario and Magkalayo were part of a group busted for selling ice. Three others have also been handed prison terms. One other is still continuing with the court trial.
Drugs, particularly ice, remain a major concern for local authorities. Last year alone, about $1.8 million worth of assorted illegal drugs were seized.
