A burglary incident Monday night in Garapan took away popular items including betel nut and lime.

When the robbers broke into the Happy Market in Garapan, they knew what items to get for a late night bash. By the time they got out, they took nine cases of Budweiser beer, three cases of Spam, eight packs of Benson and Hedges, a handful of quarters, 100 betel nut bags and another 30 for lime.

According to Department of Public Safety spokesperson Rose Ada, the incident started at 10 PM after the store was closed.

It was only after it opened early Tuesday morning the owners discovered about the robbery incident. A window was broken and glasses were scattered on the floor.

Ada said DPS crime scene technicians responded to the call and the report of their investigation was forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Department.

Meanwhile, a juvenile was arrested Tuesday at Hopwood Junior High School after he was caught with Marijuana leaves.

Based on the police report, one of Hopwood’s office staff bumped into the boy who was holding a white square box. Inside the box, he saw green leafy substance believed to be Marijuana.

The school alerted DPS about the incident and the young suspect was brought by police officers to the juvenile office, she said.
