Lions Club donates to community
The Fil-American Lions Club donated a pavilion facility for the public’s use as part of the group’s continuing mission to provide services to the community.
Government leaders, on behalf of the Saipan community, accepted the organization’s goodwill offering during a special turnover ceremony at PauPau Beach, San Roque.
It took the club many years to complete the recreational facility, according to former charter president of the Lions Club Jerry Tan.
Amid slow economic improvements, the civic group still managed to push through with the project,
With the new facility in place, families can now pleasantly hold picnics and family gatherings at the site.
Lt. Governor Jesus R. Sablan, Senator Pete Reyes, and Rep. Dino Jones were among the government officials present at the simple turnover ceremony, where they expressed appreciation for the organization’s generous contribution. (MM)
