If only blunders can be rehearsed!

Imagine if life in these isles is limited to the stage (theatre) at American Memorial Park. Raw materials for scripts would be plentiful in fairyland, riddled with veiled hypocrisy, ignorance, arrogance or a combination of two or all three tools of immaturity.

Imagine if life in these isles is limited to the stage (theatre) at American Memorial Park. Raw materials for scripts would be plentiful in fairyland, riddled with veiled hypocrisy, ignorance, arrogance or a combination of two or all three tools of immaturity.

How I wish this grand sense of complacency really permits for dress rehearsals to refine blunders committed by people from both sides of the ocean divide.

But we all know that coming to grips with substantive issues leave no room for neglect, errors or instant replay to rectify our inadequacies or small isle nimble minds. A single mishandling instantly translates into piles of hardship that eventually show up on our doorsteps. And it hits hardest against the less poised to deal with it.

How unfortunate the microcosm of provincialism (now in full bloom) that inhibits full view of the merits and demerits of issues. Or are we supposed to attribute it to the rather slow political maturation process? Or is it more the lack of visionaries truly committed to making a difference by taking these isles to greater heights with rock solid resolve? Or is it all of the above?

It’s time to begin critical analysis NOT of what was done, but what we’ve failed to do on a proactive basis, to tackle issues of substance with resolve. How I wish it were fairyland where dress rehearsals are a given in order to refine our moronic inadequacies usually sprinkled by the lack of foresight.
If only the fairyland of our imagination allows for the reversal of time. But such isn’t reality anywhere in the world.

The Bangladeshi Witness

Remember the Bangladeshi who allegedly lied that his mom was sick and must leave the island immediately? Remember he showed up at the Don Young Hearing in Washington as Interior’s witness? The sucker rehearsed his OIA-prepared statement, but fumbled and stumbled like a moron when quizzed to the hilt by the panel.

I learned that co-workers of the Bangladeshi OIA-witness pitched-in to help a man in need–likely death in the family. He took donations from fellow employees. He then sent back his relative to collect from those who didn’t remit their donations in time (before he left for Washington). Good luck my friend and may your mom survive another pathological liar’s tale.

Then there’s Jeff Schorr who rented a car for Ms. Wendy Doromal, another alleged paid witness by Interior’s OIA. If anything, our experiences in this matter now tell us that we can’t trust Bangladeshis nor do-gooders from the US mainland who have seen fit to employ the biblical equivalence of Cain and Abel.

Well, whatever it is that you have inflicted against this group of US Citizens will someday descend in bigger bundles to haunt you on your dying day. Frankly, I welcome an open exchange of views, but to the extent that this was allegedly fronted by labor unions, sorry, but let it be known right here and now that we too are US Citizens and know only too well the preciousness of our individual rights and freedom.

Why would mediocre bureaucrats at Interior’s OIA venture policy formulation when theirs is strictly limited to enforcement of federal laws on funds availed the CNMI? Isn’t policy decisions solely the preserve of the US Congress? So far it has said “No Mas!”

Therefore, it stands to reason that the only set of laws valid here is the Covenant Agreement, no more, no less! Anything over and above the dictates of the letter and spirit of the Covenant is a violation of federal law! Get this right this time, Mr. Score and cabal! Or perhaps a seminar may be in order to refresh your nimble warpedly mind of the salient points of the Covenant Agreement?
