KRNM to air interview with noted anthropologist

KRNM 88.1 & 89.1 FM, a non-commercial, public radio station which broadcasts from the campus of Northern Marianas College, will air a fascinating interview with Dr. Koji Lum, a former post-doctoral fellow at the Institute of Statistical Mathematics in Tokyo, and now a professor and researcher at Tokyo Women's Medical University.

KRNM 88.1 & 89.1 FM, a non-commercial, public radio station which broadcasts from the campus of Northern Marianas College, will air a fascinating interview with Dr. Koji Lum, a former post-doctoral fellow at the Institute of Statistical Mathematics in Tokyo, and now a professor and researcher at Tokyo Women’s Medical University.

Dr. Lum is a geneticist and anthropologist whose work is focused on the genetics of small populations throughout the Pacific Islands. His current research involves molecular anthropology and evolutionary epidemiology, and he addresses recent advances and ethical dilemmas concerning disease research during the one-hour discussion.

This special is hosted by Ed Zehr, the chair of the Social Sciences, Fine Arts & Humanities department at NMC, and is the latest installment of the ongoing Humanities Round Table series, featuring conversations with scholars about a variety of issues and current affairs.

The program will air on KRNM Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 7:00 p.m. and will be repeated Friday, Sept. 29, at 7:00 p.m.
