Hopwood's NJFL takes home a pile of ribbons

The National Junior Forensic League (NJFL) is an organization of students who compete in speech categories. These categories are Poetry, Prose, Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, and Impromptu.

The National Junior Forensic League (NJFL) is an organization of students who compete in speech categories. These categories are Poetry, Prose, Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, and Impromptu.

Hopwood had 12 students participate in last Saturday’s islandwide competition at MHS. This is the second one for this school year, with the largest number of competitors to date.

The following are the Hopwood students who took home 15 ribbons:

Mark Anthony Yebra- 1st Poetry (masters)

Florence Mizutani- 2nd Poetry (masters)

Alvie Sanchez- 3rd Poetry (masters)

Kathleen Magada- 4th Poetry (masters)/ 2nd Humorous Interpretation

Edwin Correa- 5th Poetry (masters)

Eric Slyter- 5th Poetry (novice)/ 3rd Impromptu

Erica Toves- 5th Poetry (novice)

Rose Marie Wakit- 1st Dramatic Interpretation

Eva M. Demapan and Lorraine Catienza- 2nd Duo Interpretation

Eva M. Demapan- 5th Impromptu

Trinita Concepcion- 1st Impromptu

Tatiana Guevarra- 2nd Impromptu

These students have shown their best and Hopwood is very proud of their NJFL team. The next competition will be scheduled for late January.
