The National Teacher Appreciation Week is set for May 7-11 2001. A myriad of activities and events are set up for this week at the school level.

One major event for this year is the roadside waving event on May 9 starting at 3:30pm to 6pm across the Microl Corporation car lot.

All private and public schools administrators, parents and students will be at the wave event. Teachers are invited to come by the roadside to pick up their apple or apple drink.

The purpose of this event is to pay tribute to the honorary, noble profession teaching. It is to give thanks and appreciation to the good teachers and teacher aides in our community as they struggle to define their roles in this ever changing society.

The CNMI PTA Council is the driving force behind this event and the public is invited to join in and help give thanks to their children’s’ teachers. *Bring your school banner, placards (“Thank your teachers”), wear school uniforms etc. For more information contact Mr. Alfred Ada at 234-6270/9692.
