MRA won’t let the dust settle

The Marianas Racing Association, with Miller Lite and Pepsi, will be hosting the 2004 Motocross Race Series this Sunday, May 30 at the Cowtown Raceway Park, in the final event to take place on the track.

Beginning Tuesday, June 1, the Marpi track will be closed so that the racing association can reorganize the grounds for their major annual racing events on Saturday, July 24, and Sunday, July 25.

“This will be the last race before we rip up the track so that we can get ready for July,” said MRA president Steve Sablan.

Before they start taking anything apart, approximately 40 competitors entered in the minis, 50cc, 60cc, 85cc, 125cc, 250cc and 450cc classes will have their last go rounds at the island’s northern tip.

All of the two—and four-wheel action is scheduled to begin at 10am and admission is free of charge.

Sablan would like to remind everyone that there will be plenty of parking available and to make sure that spectators make use of the parking lot in the back. The snack bar will also be open for all of your refreshment needs.

For the past several years now, the July races have been the biggest event on the MRA schedule, with the exception of last year. In July of 2003, the MRA opened the facility in Cowtown and the big event was moved to November.
