Thursday evening saw five of the Seventh Day Adventist School’s junior high graduate, with teachers and staff on hand to attend to honor the class of 2004. Parents and relatives were also present to witness the event. SDA instructor Barbara Maycock opened the ceremony with a warm welcome to the parents.

Nathan Pangelinan, together with his classmate, Masa Yoshida, then took over the ceremony to share with everyone the history of their class.

Pangelinan, the Social vice president of the 8th grade class, received the highest honors as this year’s Valedictorian. In his speech, Pangelinan thanked the people who have been there for him through thick and thin.

Receiving the Salutatorian award was the 8th grade class president, Shaela Ross Moors. Moors said she is honored and pleased to be recognized for her dedication in the work she has put in her years at SDA.

Lindsey Farris, a graduating 8th grade student, surprised the parents when she showed them a little of what she could do, marching on stage and playing a musical piece.

At the closing of the presentation of diplomas, the graduates stood by the podium to thank their teacher, Bryant Moors. Taking the microphone one person at a time, they thanked Moors for his dedication and commitment.

Student Yu Pai ended the ceremony with a brief prayer for the graduates as they take their first step into high school.
