Anti-Tobacco Wellness Program on Tinian marks milestone in community health
Since its inception in 2015, the Anti-Tobacco Wellness Program on Tinian has been a beacon of health advocacy, fostering collaboration between the Tinian Mayor’s Office and Department of Commerce under the dedicated leadership of director Mary Susan Perez.
This program serves as a vital platform to educate the community on danger to tobacco use while promoting holistic well-being encompassing physical, mental and emotion health.
Celebrating its remarkable ninth year journey, the program has been consistent engagement from individual across diverse age and ethnic groups. Its presence at annual festival on Tinian has been instrumental in inspiring community members to adopt healthier lifestyles and stay active.
The ninth-year anniversary celebration of Anti-Tobacco Wellness Program on Tinian took place last Sept. 28, at the main pavilion at Jones Beach. The event engaged the platform for raising awareness about tobacco’s detrimental impacts and advocating for wellness in all aspect of life.
For those looking actively participate and support the cause, weekly schedules have been organized. Every Saturday from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at Natibu Park and Sunday from 10:30am to 11:30am offer opportunities for community members to engage in fitness activities and learn more about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
