Arrest warrant sought for Teregeyo after multiple violations
U.S. Probation officer Juanette David-Atalig has filed a request for a warrant of arrest against Vickilyn Ramonica Manglona Teregeyo following a series of violations of her supervised release conditions, culminating in her failure to return to the HOPE Recovery Center.
In a declaration submitted on June 12, 2024, David-Atalig detailed a troubling pattern of noncompliance by Teregeyo, which began in December 2023 when she tested positive for methamphetamine twice. These incidents set off a series of legal and rehabilitative interventions aimed at addressing her substance abuse issues.
On Jan. 16, 2024, a petition for a summons was filed due to her positive tests. Teregeyo admitted to these violations during her initial appearance before Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona on Jan. 24, 2024. Despite this, she continued to test positive for methamphetamine, leading to multiple supplemental declarations and further court hearings.
By Feb. 12, 2024, Teregeyo had self-surrendered to the U.S. Marshal Service and admitted to additional drug use. She was remanded to custody but was later allowed to participate in treatment at the HOPE Recovery Center. Her stay there, however, was marred by further positive drug tests and noncompliance.
Most recently, Teregeyo was granted a day pass from the HOPE Recovery Center on June 10, 2024, but failed to return by the 6pm curfew. Despite multiple attempts to contact her, she remained unreachable, and as of June 11, 2024, had not returned to the center or contacted her probation officer.
This latest incident prompted the filing of a seventh supplemental declaration, outlining her ongoing violations and justifying the need for an arrest warrant.
“Her consistent pattern of noncompliance and recent absconding from the HOPE Recovery Center necessitate immediate action,” said David-Atalig in her declaration. The final disposition hearing is set for June 18, 2024, where it is expected that Manglona will address this latest violation.
