Ayven Sablan takes Peewee ATV Class

Ayvee Sablan proved to be the best newcomer in four wheels after topping the Peewee ATV Class of last Sunday’s race in the 2024 “MOTO IV” Points Race Series at the Cowtown Race Park.

The 5-year-old was lone rider in the division and went home with 50 points.

Sablan, who goes to school at Golden Harvest International School, was happy after the race.

“I feel very happy and I hope I win the next race too! The course is good and it was too hot,” he said.

The Yamaha 50cc rider learned how to drive an ATV from his cousin, Nakoa Torres. He also thanked Team Ericco Racing and his family for supporting his burgeoning motocross career.

Sablan’s mother, Almina Deleon Guerrero, said they’re just happy that their son fell in love with riding.

“Me and his dad (Mark Sablan Funkugub) have him practice when we have time and he fell in love with the sport really quick! He always talks about wanting to go full blast on his ATV.”

Deleon Guerrero said they will let their son join the Marianas Racing Association races as long as his good grades are not affected by his new hobby.

“Good grades are a must! As long as he has good grades with a good attitude he is allowed to race. We also bought him what he wanted which was ice cream after the race,” she said.

Deleon Guerrero also thanked Malcom Omar and Paul and Mae Guerrero for providing the tents during last Sunday’s race.

In the Mini ATV Class, Peyton Pangelinan topped the race with 50 points, followed by Kanoa Torres with 44 points.

Results of the other divisions of the March race will be published in the next issues of Saipan Tribune.
