Bolleyballer-Z top Rocball elimination phase
The elimination phase of the 41st Annual Rocball League ended at the Marianas High School Gymnasium last Friday, April 5. There were 10 teams registered to play in this year’s round-robin schedule.
In the final five games of play, the Aces upset Topshakaz, 37-35; Baddie-Z defeated Chagii Fahn, 53-38; Bolleyballerz had to go into overtime to defeat Nesian Power by scoring a goal; Spicey Locals defeated Rizzlers, 46-23, and in the last regular game of the year, Quest scored a win over Border Control, 49-25.
In the ninth and final round of games, Rocball players collectively scored 68 2-point serves, seven 2-point backcourt plays, and 13 3-point goals in addition to their court points.
The team that scored the most aces was the Spicey Locals with 14 2-point serves. Nesian Power scored the most 3-point plays with four goals in a game. The heavy hitter of Round 9 was Alex Kim of Spicey Locals. Kim scored seven 2-point aces in the game against the Rizzlers. Jerome Manzon of Baddie-Z, the leading 3-point player of the league, scored another two goals in the game against Chagii Fahn.
The Bolleyballer-Z won first place with an 8-1 record. Topshakaz came in second place with a 6-3 record, Spicey Locals came in third with a 6-1, and Nesian Power came in fourth place with a 5-4 record. Topshakaz came in second place with the same win-loss record as the Spicey Locals because Topshakaz defeated the Spicey Locals during the regular season of games.
There was also a three-way tie for fourth place with Nesian Power, Team Quest, and Aces. But Nesaian Power defeated each of those teams during the regular season of games to advance to the playoffs. The semifinal games scheduled for the week of April 8 through April 12 will start on Tuesday. Topshakaz and Spicey locals play on Tuesday, April 9, and the Bolleyball Baller-Z will play against the Nesaian Power on Wednesday, April 10. The semifinal games will be two-set games of 25 points per set.
The 2024 Rocball championship game will be a four-set game of 25 points per game and divided into two days of competition at 25 points per set. The teams will play two sets on Thursday, April 11, and two sets on Friday, April 12.
Chagii Fahn and Rizzlers completed the 2024 cast of the 41st Annual Roccball League and finished at the cellar with 2-7 and 0-8 win-loss marks, respectively. (PR)

Quest and Border Control played game No. 45 of Rocball’s 10-team round-robin league schedule of games last Friday, April 5. It was the last regular game of the year. The playoffs start Tuesday at the Mariana High School Gymnasium.
