CUC schedules road closures in Garapan from Dec. 21 to Feb. 6
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. would like to notify the public of scheduled road closures in portions of Garapan, starting from today, Dec. 21, 2023, to Feb. 6, 2024. See additional information below:
• Road closure dates: Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, to Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024 (Note: Road closures will occur on various dates within this period)
• Road closure times: Between 7:30am and 4:30pm (time may vary depending on the level of groundwater or tidal level)
• Areas affected: Portions of Coral Tree Avenue between Micro Beach Road and CPL. Derence Jack Road, including Date Street, Coconut Avenue, and Palm Street.
• Purpose: The road closures will allow CUC’s contractor to replace and rehabilitate sewer lines and manholes along the roads of the areas affected.
Detour signs will be displayed to inform the traveling public of restrictions. CUC’s contractor will also be providing detailed directions regarding accessing the commercial and residential properties along the project areas.
The Garapan Sewer Mains and Manholes Replacement Project is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act. The project’s objective is to establish a more reliable sewer system, involving the decommissioning of the old sewer line, and its replacement with PVC pipes.
CUC wishes to reassure the public that there will be no disruption in sewer services for our customers. Motorists are advised to drive slowly and exercise caution when in the project areas for the safety of the crew.
