Call for weightlifters for 2025 Mini Games in Palau
The CNMI Weightlifting Federation is calling on interested weightlifters to compete in the 2025 Pacific Mini Games in Koror, Palau.
CNMI Weightlifting Federation president and coach John Davis said that if they can fill every weight category, they will try to send a full team of 20 lifters.
Interested lifters, in order to make the cut for the team, must lift the weight above a minimum standard.
The criteria beyond lifting will be discussed at a time before training starts.
The Pacific Mini Games is slated for June 29-July 9, 2025 in Koror, Palau.
In the 2022 Pacific Mini Games held in the NMI, the NMI National Weightlifting Team bagged 11 gold, nine silver, and three bronze medals.
After, in the 2023 Pacific Games held at Honiara, Solomon Islands, the team won one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal.
For the recently concluded 2024 Micronesian Games in Majuro, Marshall Islands, the weightlifting team brought home three gold, five silver, and four bronze.
