Ferrer fast and furious in Mini II Class

T.J. Ferrer started the season on the right foot by winning Mini II Class of the 2024 “MOTO IV” Points Race Series last Sunday race at the Cowtown Race Park.

The 13-year-old Tanapag Middle School student won both heats aboard his 2021 Yamaha YZ85 for a perfect 50 points. Calix Cruz was the only other rider in the division and finished with 44 points.

“It feels really good especially for the first race of the season. The course was really muddy and the weather was rainy and most of the time cold,” said Ferrer.

He then dedicated the win to his father, mother, sister, and all of his supporters and friends at the track.

In the Big Boy ATV Class, Henry Camacho Sr. also took both races for 50 points, while defending champion Christian “Hollywood” Camacho finished second with 44 points.

In the Women’s Class, Guam’s Mariana Wenden beat all comers for both heats for a perfect 50 points. Billie Pangelinan finished second with 44 points, while Mari Alvarez came in third with 40 points.

The organizing Marianas Racing Association also came out with the 10-race 2024 calendar with the competitions set on March 17, April 28, May 19, June 30, July 7, July 28, Aug. 11, and Aug. 15.
