GRMC hosting Shriners Pediatric Clinic until March 7
DEDEDO, Guam—Guam Regional Medical City is hosting the Shriners Hospitals for Children–Honolulu from Wednesday, Feb. 28, through Thursday, March 7, in conjunction with the Department of Public Health & Social Services This is Shriners’ sixth clinic held at GRMC.
During this visit, the Shriners Team is scheduled to see 36-40 established pediatric patients per day with orthopedic conditions, burns, and spinal cord injuries. Additionally, due to the high volume of scheduled patients for the week, referrals for new patients will be placed on a waitlist. No surgeries will take place during this visit.
Pediatric orthopedic surgeon Dr. Craig Ono will lead a team of four, including Vena Joco, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse; Sandy Zukeran and Eric T., outreach coordinators; and Robin Miyamoto, clinical research coordinator. DPHSS will provide direct support under the leadership of Margarita Gay, RN, administrator for the Bureau of Family Health and Nursing Services.
Parents or legal guardians of new patients will need to complete an application form, which may be picked up at 155 Hesler Place (former Guam Legislature building) in Hagåtña, Monday–Friday from 8:30am to 11:30am and 1:30pm to 4pm. Applications must include a copy of the child’s birth certificate, parent identification card, and proof of legal guardianship, if applicable.
