JKPL will be closed on Monday, Tuesday

Because the upcoming Commonwealth Cultural Day holiday falls on a Monday, when the library is usually closed, the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library will also be closed on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023. JKPL will resume normal operational hours on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, at 10am.

“Wishing you all a happy Commonwealth Cultural Day as we celebrate the beauty, diversity, and significance of the many cultures that bind us together and the traditions passed down from our ancestors! Biba, Marianas!” the library said in a statement.

How to celebrate

Here’s how you can celebrate Commonwealth Cultural Day with the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library:

1. Check out our Pacific Room display in the main lobby featuring local authors and local artisans and their crafts

2. Check out our library social media accounts on our Pacific Cultural Corner. We highlight various books and library materials from the Pacific Room and share this knowledge with our community.

3. Check out some local titles available at the JKPL:

How can you help assist with our programs?

We welcome and encourage businesses to consider donating Educational Tax Credit. Pursuant to NMI Public Law 15-120, the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is able to receive cash contributions under Educational Tax Credit. Please make checks payable to: CNMI Treasury. For MUNIS payments, to the Friends of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library MUNIS Vendor ID#100404.

The JKPL hours of operation are as follows: Tuesday to Thursday, 10am to 6pm; Friday, 1:30pm to 7pm; and Saturday, 9:30am to 4pm. Closed Sundays, Mondays, Austerity Saturdays, and holidays.
